TechTime: How to use NDI tools with OBS

NDI (Network Device Interface) is a technology developed by NewTek that allows video systems to communicate and share video across a network. To use NDI with OBS (Open Broadcasting Software), you will need to first ensure that you have the NDI plugin for OBS installed. You can download the plugin from the OBS website.

Once you have the plugin installed, open OBS and go to the “Tools” menu. Select “NDI Output Settings” to open the NDI output configuration window. In this window, you can select which sources you want to make available as an NDI stream.

Next, you will need to add the NDI source to your OBS scene. To do this, go to the “Sources” panel and click the “+” button to add a new source. Select “NDI Source” from the list and select the NDI stream you want to use.

You should now be able to see the video from the NDI source in your OBS preview window. You can adjust the positioning, scaling, and other settings for the NDI source just as you would for any other source.

Finally, when you are ready to go live, you can start streaming or recording your OBS scene with the NDI source included. You can also use NDI as an input source in OBS Studio, in the same way you would use a webcam or other video capture device.

Note: Make sure that your network is properly configured to handle NDI streams. Your computer and the device you are trying to connect to must be on the same network, and you may need to adjust your network settings to allow NDI traffic.
